Why it exists

Look up almost any dream symbol and you will find the same three sentences on forty sites, copied from each other, with no indication of where the meaning originated or why anyone believed it. Look up the next full moon and you will find dates that disagree by a day, because they were transcribed rather than calculated.

This site was built because both of those are fixable. The dream entries say where the belief comes from — which tradition, and what it was reasoning from. The astronomical pages are computed with professional software whose code is public, so any figure can be checked against an independent source.

The standards it holds to

Nothing is published without being read. Every entry on this site was written and reviewed rather than generated and left. That is a slower way to build a dictionary and it is the reason there are dozens of entries rather than thousands.

Where an ordinary explanation exists, it is given. The paralysis that produces chase dreams, the hypnic jerk behind falling dreams, the full bladder behind toilet dreams — these are stated plainly. A site that omits them in order to keep the mystery is not being useful.

Disagreements between traditions are shown, not resolved. An owl means wisdom in Greek tradition and death in Slavic. A black cat is luck in Britain and misfortune across most of Europe. Where sources conflict, both are given with their origins, because picking one silently would be pretending to an authority nobody has.

Nothing here predicts. The horoscopes say what is in the sky and what that has traditionally been taken to mean. They do not say what will happen to you, because no calculation supports that.

What it does not claim

Astrology and dream interpretation are not sciences, and this site does not present them as such. What can be defended is the astronomy — the positions, the phases, the eclipse times are physics and are correct. What is done with them afterwards is tradition, clearly labelled as tradition.

Numerology is presented as entertainment, with a visible note saying so. It is here because people enjoy it, not because it works.

Who runs it

Lunasomnia is an independent project, running since 2026. It is not owned by a network, does not republish syndicated content, and has no editorial relationship with any other astrology site.

If something here is wrong, that is worth knowing. Corrections are made, and the computation is public precisely so that they can be.

How it is paid for

The site is free and has no accounts, no subscriptions and nothing to buy. It is intended to be supported by advertising. At the time of writing there are no ads on it; when that changes, the privacy page will say so before it happens, and consent will be asked for properly rather than assumed.
